Sandia HS Area Safety and Traffic Calming Study
Background
Beginning in April 2023, the City of Albuquerque conducted public study sessions to discuss the Safety and Traffic Calming Study in the vicinity of Sandia High School. The study aimed to further understand the safety challenges in this corridor. The Public Meetings allowed the project team to share an overview of some of the corridor's safety challenges and provide a forum for the community's feedback on these issues and potential solutions.
State Capital Outlay Funds Awarded by State Legislature
This year's State Legislature has awarded adequate FY2025 capital outlay funds for the project. This means that the study recommendations can now be forwarded to the consultant to begin the design construction plans for the needed improvements. We hope to have construction completed in 2025.
