The Albuquerque Chinese American Film Festival selects documentaries, short films and feature films that highlight the complexities, joys and challenges of the Chinese American experience. Through the beauty of exceptional storytelling, they hope to entertain and also enlighten to bridge cultures, foster understanding, combat racial stereotype and celebrate the diverse and rich tapestry of stories within the Chinese American Community. Free lunch for the first 100 registrants to reserve their Session One tickets.
Session One
Doors: 8:00 a.m. Start Time: 8:30 a.m.
The morning session will include the documentary Grace Lee Boggs and A Tale of Three China Towns. This session will highlight key social justice topics like activism, cultural struggles and gentrification. This session is followed by lunch for first 100 registrants. Session Two
Doors: 12:30 p.m. Start Time: 12:30 p.m.
The afternoon session will include a Q & A with Farah Nousheen of UNM, Harold Bailey of NAACP, and filmmaker Lisa Mao. Together with the films Blurring the Color Line, Anna May Wong, and Shang Chi, this session will highlight Chinese American figures and the Chinese American experience from three different perspectives.
