Description
Hot air balloon events such as the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta® would not be possible without the inventions and innovations of Ed Yost. Considered the “Father of Modern Hot Air Ballooning,” Yost designed and built the earliest iterations of the hot air balloon envelope and system. Visit the Balloon Museum’s new exhibition, Ed Yost: Forever Pushing the Envelope, to see some of his inventions, including an early single-seat “hopper” gondola and Yost’s original balloon deflation device. Formally opens to the public with a talk by Orvin Olivier on Sunday, October 8 at 9 a.m. Olivier is balloonist and was a close friend of Yost. The talk will explore the early test flights and Yost’s enduring legacy.
The event is included with the price of admission.
