Join us for a talk by Digital Archivist Jill Hartke who will discuss Albuquerque’s Brook’s Studio and its owner Harold Brooks, known for his retouching of portraits taken in the first of half of 20th century. This talk features many of the portraits in the exhibition, Those (un)Familiar Faces, detailing specific retouching techniques while also examining the beauty standards that led Brooks and other photographers to change the appearance of their clients.
