PANEL DISCUSSION: News For The People

Description
Seers Catalogue, the publication that provided the headline which became the name of the Albuquerque Museum’s exhibition News For The People, was a play on the name of the famous department store’s catalog and was written, produced, and edited by a rolling cast of volunteers and young writers. The social and political issues that New Mexico faced in the 1970s were by no means unique. This decade of change saw local communities demand action relevant to their own circumstances and needs, and reporters at Seers strove to report stories about overlooked communities. Join us for a panel exploring the state of journalism today with Seers journalists and activists. Co-founder of the International Relations Center and author Tom Barry, owner of Bookworks Nancy Guinn, and former State Senator and author Dede Feldman, reunite after decades of activism and journalism.
