Heritage Spinning and Weaving – Fiber Prep
This class features a special emphasis on fiber harvest and preparation using Churro wool. Participants will learn to wash, card, and comb wool in preparation for processing wool into yarn for domestic and commercial use.

This class features fiber-made utilitarian items for home and commercial uses.
Learn to spin wool fiber on a drop spindle.

This class features yarn building and fiber-made utilitarian items.
Learn to Spin on a spinning wheel.

Heritage Spinning and Weaving – Dyeing Purposes and Uses
This class features practices used for dyeing wool with indigo.

Heritage Spinning and Weaving – Dyeing Purposes and Uses
This class features traditional methods and technique using natural dyes. Guests will learn the use of traditional and local dye plants to replicate colors of time period practices used for dyeing wool.
Learn to dye wool with natural colors.

This class features lessons on the products of colonial and territorial New Mexico that were fiber-made utilitarian items and trade items used in silver mines in Mexico.
Learn to weave socks.

Heritage Spinning and Weaving – Weaving
This class features demonstrating portions of the winding and warping with table looms using wool yarn and traditional patterns for jerga and colcha.
Learn to weave on different styles of looms.

Heritage Spinning and Weaving – Weaving
This class features information on the original base fabric for a colcha. Sabanilla – a loosely woven wool fabric with a 12 – 22 thread count.
Learn to make colcha.
