Air Quality Emergency Construction Permit #3380-EP was issued on April 17, 2019

On February 28, 2019, the City of Albuquerque Aviation Department (Aviation) submitted a request for an Emergency Permit for a Taxiway E (TW E) project 770009 and Taxiway F6 (TW F6) project 722299 at the Albuquerque International Sunport Airport (Sunport) to the City of Albuquerque Environmental Health Department (Department). Vital Consulting Group, LLC (VCG) is the contractor for these two projects.

Following the request for the air quality emergency construction permit, VCG submitted the application for the air quality emergency construction permit to the Air Quality Program (Program) of the City of Albuquerque Environmental Health Department for a portable concrete batch plant on March 19, 2019.  The owner of the portable concrete batch plant is VCG located at 5200 Oakland Avenue, Suite D, Albuquerque, NM 87113. VCG’s portable concrete batch plant is located within the premises of the Albuquerque International Sunport Airport in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The air quality emergency construction permit for the VCG portable concrete batch plant was assigned Permit No. #3380-EP.

VCG’s air quality emergency construction permit consists of a portable concrete batch plant with a process rate of 270 cubic yards per hour (cy/hr) and 500,000 cubic yards per year.   

The Department approved the request to issue the air quality emergency construction permit on April 17, 2019 and the Program issued the air quality emergency construction permit on April 17, 2019 according to 20.11.41.24.A NMAC. 

 

Comment on the Emergency Permit

A copy of the permit application, the Program’s technical analysis and the emergency construction permit are available for inspection by the public in this website or at the Program’s offices.  The public has 30 days to submit comment and evidence, request a public information hearing, or both, on the air quality emergency construction permit to the Program.  The public must express interest in writing to the program before the end of the comment period on June 13, 2019.
