Third Alarm Opens at The Alvarado Transportation Center (ATC)

3rd Alarm Grand OpeningMayor Martin Chávez and ABQ RIDE Director Greg Payne are pleased to welcome “3rd Alarm Coffee” to the lobby of the Alvarado Transportation Center at 1st and Central downtown.  A ribbon cutting took place on December 19th at 2:00.

“This is a great location for a coffee shop and we are really excited to have them here at the Alvarado Transportation Center”,said Mayor Martin Chávez. “With bus and train ridership on the increase, the Alvarado Transportation Center is becoming a very busy place, and there is quite a demand for services such as this”.

This is a second location for 3rd Alarm Coffee.   Besides an assortment of coffee selections, there will be breakfast burritos, muffins, bagels, scones, sodas and sandwiches.

“3rd Alarm offers a terrific solution for commuters on the go”, said Director Greg Payne.  “Busy bus and train commuters can get a coffee or a quick bite to eat on their way to work or the bus or train”.

“Downtown revitalization has created many new opportunities”, said Mayor Martin Chávez. “When the Alvarado Transportation Center opened in 2003, things were quiet here at the corner of 1st and Central, and now it is a bustling area for commuters, tourists, movie patrons and shoppers”.

The hours of operation are Monday through Friday 6am to 6pm, but soon will expand to 7 days a week.  For more information, call 247-1060.
