Why the Clean Air Challenge?

The quality of air that we breath is important to everyone. Each winter the air over Albuquerque often becomes hazy. This haze is caused by "Temperature Inversion".  Trapped by a temperature inversion, ground pollutants create the haze that we tend to see in Albuquerque's skies during the winter months. The number one cause of ground pollutants in Albuquerque is vehicle emissions.

• With Rapid Ride Bus services you will enjoy a quicker and more enjoyable commute, that is safe for our environment.
• The D-Ride provides FREE downtown transportation services reducing traffic while minimizing air pollutants in the downtown area.
• ABQ RIDE has added additional bike racks to it's buses making it easy for intermodal transportation.
