Several Routes Detouring Dec. 1 on Central for Twinkle Light Parade and Nob Hill Shop and Stroll

On Saturday, Dec. 1, 2012, ABQ RIDE buses serving or crossing Central around the UNM/Nob Hill area will be detouring from noon to midnight.

Because of staging for the Twinkle Light Parade and the Nob Hill Shop and Stroll, ABQ RIDE will be rerouting buses on Central between University and San Mateo.

Starting at noon, northbound Route #16-18 (The Bug) will detour west from Carlisle onto Lead, then south on Girard back to its regular route.  Southbound, #16/18 will turn east on Coal from Girard, then south on Carlisle back to its regular route.

Going eastbound, Routes #66 –Central,  #766-Rapid Ride Red Line and #777-Rapid Ride Green Line will all divert north onto University, then east on Lomas and south on San Mateo before heading back to their regular routes on eastbound Central.  Westbound, the three routes will turn north from Central onto San Mateo, west on Lomas, then south on University before resuming their regular routes on westbound Central.

For the first time ever, the City is combining the Twinkle Light Parade and the Nob Hill Shop and Stroll into one holiday event.  The Nob Hill Shop and Stroll begins at noon.  The Twinkle Light Parade begins at 5:15 p.m. and will travel westbound from Washington to Girard, where the floats will disband.
