City to Provide Express Service on Saturdays and Sundays during the 2009 State Fair

The City of Albuquerque- Mayor Martin J. Chávez and ABQ RIDE Director Greg Payne announced that ABQ RIDE will be providing weekend express service to the EXPO New Mexico’s 2009 State Fair from three locations. On the eastside, services will be at the southwest corner of the Coronado Center. There will be two westside locations. One will be at Cottonwood Mall the other on the corner of Central and Atrisco in the K-Mart parking lot.

The State Fair runs from September 11-27, 2009. Tickets are $2.00 for passengers over the age of 12, one way, and free for children under 12. The Express price does not include Fair admission.

2009 State Fair Express Schedule: (Buses will depart every 15 - 20 Minutes)

  • Saturday: The State Fair Express will start at 9:30AM with the last bus leaving the State Fair at 10:30 PM
  • Sunday: The State Fair Express will start at 9:30 AM with the last bus leaving the State Fair at 10:30 PM except the last Sunday of the fair (9-27-09) the last bus will leave at 8:30 PM.
  • In addition Fair goers can take advantage of regular routes, which run by Expo New Mexico. These routes are 3-157 (Louisiana/Montano/Uptown/Cottonwood), Route 11 (Lomas) and Route 66/766/777 (Central.)
