Detours Will Last from Thursday, Feb. 28 through Sunday, March 3
ABQ RIDE will briefly detour some of its routes starting Thursday, Feb. 28 due to street work on a manhole on Gold Ave SW between 1st and 2nd Streets. The detours will last from 9 a.m. on Feb. 28 through 3 p.m. on Sunday, March 3.
18 routes are affected; all of which leave westbound out of the Alvarado Transportation Center.
On the morning of Feb. 28, all of the affected routes will turn south from the Alvarado Transportation Center onto 1st Street, then west on Silver. Twelve of the routes, including the #5-Montgomery/Carlisle, #8-Menaul, #10-North 4th Street, #11-Lomas, #36-12th Street/Rio Grande and #50-Airport/Downtown and six commuter routes (#6-Indian School Commuter, #7-Candelaria Commuter, #12-Constitution Commuter, #13-Comanche Commuter, #93-Academy Commuter and #94-Unser Commuter) will then turn north from Silver onto 2nd Street before heading on their regular routes.
Route #40-D-Ride will also make an additional westbound turn onto Gold from 2nd Street before heading on its regular route.
Five of the routes, the #55-Isleta, #54-Bridge/Westgate, #97-Zuni, #217-Downtown/KAFB Limited and #250-Free Downtown/Sunport Nonstop Express will also turn south from the Alvarado Transportation Center onto 1st Street, then west on Silver. However, they will turn south from Silver onto 2nd Street before heading on their regular routes.
Since the D-Ride and the commuter routes don’t run on weekends, they will only be on detour through Friday evening, March 1st.
The 11 other routes will go back to their regular routes at 3 p.m. on Sunday, March 3rd. For more information about the detours, click here.
