Unlimited Rides for Ages 10-18 Now Available for Both ABQ RIDE and New Mexico Rail Runner Express!
5/3/13
It was once known simply as the Summer Fun Pass; a summer passport to fun for Albuquerque’s teens that not only promised unlimited bus rides, but also discounted and free activities to a variety of venues and summer entertainment throughout the City of Albuquerque.
Now, a revamped and improved pass is on sale called the Youth Summer Fun Pass. And for the first time ever, it also offers unlimited rides on the New Mexico Rail Runner Express for youth 10-18 years of age. It is valid on ABQ RIDE, Rail Runner, all Rio Metro bus lines, Santa Fe Trails and at different venues from June 1 to July 31, 2013.
The new pass is a result of unprecedented cooperation between the City of Albuquerque and the Rio Metro Regional Transit District, which oversees operation of the New Mexico Rail Runner Express. The joining of ABQ RIDE, the New Mexico Rail Runner Express and Rio Metro’s different bus lines now gives the area’s youth more access than ever before in navigating the Rio Grande Valley and all it has to offer during the summer.
The Youth Summer Fun Pass costs $15. Its price tag also includes coupons and discounts for miniature golf, swimming pools, museums and amusement parks to keep summertime boredom at bay.
The new pass went on sale May 1, 2013 at the Customer Service area of the Alvarado Transportation Center. It should be available at all outlets that sell ABQ RIDE bus passes by Friday, May 3, 2013 (however, not at any of ABQ RIDE’s Ticket Vending Machines).
The pass can only be used by youth 10-18 years of age. For a complete list of ABQ RIDE’s bus pass outlets, click here.
