ABQ Ride conceived the Poetry on the Bus program in 2008 in an effort to create a meaningful experience for our riders. We want our passengers to find company in poetry of all forms while on their trip. Several of our riders have expressed how poetry on the bus has positively impacted their commute.

Last year ABQ Ride was humbled by the 465 poems submitted by applicants from the greater Albuquerque area.

This year our judges are eagerly awaiting the submissions of new poems for Poetry on the Bus 2009. The winners will be announced, and the poems displayed at a closing exhibition and reception. The winning poems will also be featured throughout the interior of the ABQ Ride bus fleet.
