Rye Creek performs at Alvarado Transportation Center-March 13
Rye Creek helps ABQ RIDE celebrate St. Patrick's Day a few days early with mostly traditional Irish songs in a performance at the Alvarado Transportation Center.
The band also plays folk, western and good old mountain music. Together as a band since 1991, Rye Creek performs in the Albuquerque area playing regularly on Sundays at O’Niell's Pub and occasionally at the Taos Inn in Taos, New Mexico and at a variety of other special events around the city and state. This group is strong on vocals and clearly communicates to their audiences their pleasure in performing. Band members are mostly current or former employees of Sandia Labs and Albuquerque's Cultural Service Department. They include Ron Trellue (guitar, vocals), Mike Murphy (fiddle, mandolin, vocals), Catherine Hubbard (percussion), Ray Darnell (fiddle, mandolin, vocals), and Terry Axline (fiddle, concertina, Irish whistle, vocals).
