ABQ RIDE's new diesel-electric hybrid buses are more environmentally friendly than a conventional diesel-fueled bus by providing lower emissions and increased efficiency.

When compared to our diesel buses, the new diesel electric - hybrid bus, using a combination of particulate matter filters, an electric drive unit, and ultra-low-sulfur-diesel fuel, lower particulate emissions by 90 percent and nitrogen oxides by 50 percent.
