The Desert Rose Playhouse
Albuquerque’s only continuously producing Northeast Heights Black Box Theater. Our Mission is to provide a supportive environment for all theater artists, no matter what their skill, in order to develop and grow an appreciation for the art of theater. Through our veteran artists; be it directors, actors or theater technicians; we provide leadership to the inexperienced, while producing quality theater for the Albuquerque area.

The Vortex
The Vortex Theatre is a venue for classic, contemporary and cutting edge theatre. Our audiences can enjoy wonderful works for the stage. From local and national premieres to new interpretations of classic works, the Vortex continues to be one of Albuquerque’s finest theatres.
Tricklock Company
Tricklock Company creates, tours, and produces theatrical productions as a professional ensemble committed to artistic risk, physicality, absurdism, and poetic work.Tricklock Company is the theatre-in-residence at the University of New Mexico and the producers of The Revolutions International Theatre Festival, The Manoa Project and The Reptilian Lounge. The Tricklock Performance Laboratory in downtown Albuquerque is home to the resident company.
UNM Department of Theatre & Dance
The academic program of the UNM Department of Theatre and Dance is enchanced by a strong production program. Each year we produce a main stage series of five events: three plays, a faculty-choreographed dance concert and the nationally acclaimed Words Afire Festival of New Works. In addition, we support productions by our resident theatre company, Tricklock Company, student produced plays and student dance showcases.
