ICLEI OFFERS CUSTOMIZED TRAINING SESSIONS AT THE LOCAL ACTION SUMMIT

Develop Key Skills for Implementing Effective Climate Protection and Sustainability Programs

Please join us in Albuquerque, New Mexico May 14-16, 2008 for the ICLEI Local Action Summit! The ICLEI Local Action Summit is the premiere event that brings together mayors, county executives, local elected officials and staff, environmental policy leaders, and the business community who are leading climate and sustainability efforts at the local level.

This year the ICLEI Local Action Summit will include of a series of core skills training sessions focused on:

• Establishing a Local Government Energy Office
• Developing an Effective Sustainability Plan for Your Community
• Reducing Transportation Emissions at the Local Level
• Fostering Resilient Communities through Climate Adaptation Measures
• Creating Sustainable Communities that REDUCE, Reuse, recycle

These in-depth, 3-hour training sessions will take place the morning of Friday, May 16, and are offered free to all Summit participants. Detailed information about each session is below.
