What is Noticias?

Noticias is the system that CABQ uses to promote news (such as official news releases, announcements, etc.) and calendar events (with a specific date, time & location) to CABQ employees and citizens of Albuquerque.
Noticias items can be seen from the Lotus Notes Welcome Screen, the employee website (eweb.cabq.gov), and the public website (www.cabq.gov). Noticias items are frequently highlighted on the City's home page, which receives more traffic than any other webpage.
Noticias is FREE for departments and nontechnical in nature, which means that departments do not need the assistance of the department's "technical person". No knowledge of .html or programming is required.
Any City employee may be given access to Noticias. The Information Systems Division administers access to Noticias. Please call the ISD Helpdesk at 768-2930 or email ISD Helpdesk to request access.

You will see a link on the Lotus Notes Welcome Screen called Enter Noticias.
How does the City ensure that inappropriate information is not published?
To ensure quality control, Noticias items must be approved by your Department's approval authority. Each department has at least one individual identified to review and approve Noticias items.
The approver is responsible for ensuring that all standards, policies & procedures are met and that spelling and grammar is correct.
The Noticias Approval Workflow
John, an employee of the Department of Finance, is hosting a brown bag lunch in the Council Chambers. This event is open to all City employees. John enters the lunch information in Noticias to inform other City employees (time, date, location, directions, information about the speaker, etc.) When John finishes entering the information, he clicks the Submit for Review button.
Amy, also an employee with the Department of Finance, is the department's Noticias approver. Amy has the authority to approve public relations content. Amy automatically receives an email message which contains a link to the event John would like to publish. Amy puts the event into edit mode. She notices some misspellings and grammatical errors, so she edits John's event. When she is satisfied with the event, she clicks the button "Approved for Posting." The event then becomes available from both the Notes Welcome Screen and the Employee Website.
Amy's approval becomes the department's "seal of approval" that the information is accurate, appropriate, and professional. Departments are obligated by City website policies to ensure that all information publicized on City websites is current and accurate.
Can I communicate an item to both City employees and the public?
Yes. The Noticias Entry Form allows you to choose an audience for your Noticias item.
If you choose City Employees (eweb.cabq.gov), the announcement or event is published to both the Lotus Notes Welcome Screen and the Employee website, eweb.cabq.gov.
If you choose Public (www.cabq.gov), the announcement or event is published to the City's public website, www.cabq.gov.
Both audiences may also be chosen.
