Description
DIA DE LOS MUERTOS 2015, FRIDAY OCTOBER 30TH, SOUTH BROADWAY CULTURAL CENTER
Dia de los Muertos is a cultural legacy to our ancestors. Over the past thirty years since the program was conceived for the theatre, it has spotlighted some of the most important talent inspired by cosmogonic art blended with Native & New Mexican traditions. Poetry, musica, and danza will intersect with indigenous landscapes of primal sounds that mix with spoken word of today, and jazz melody explosions.
This year’s program will include guest artists:
Ehecatl, Danza Azteca,
Desire Harp, Native music,
Lila June Johnston, International Native Poet
Quema, West African Bala
Tony Lujan, worldwide composer superstar septet horn player, joining up with Nosotros-latin-rock-salsa- jazz- fusion powerhouse with poetry by Jaime Chavez in a concert & dance venue.
Eric Cristo Martinez Art Show in the foyer
This year, we will film the entire production, in collaboration with Lee Daniel, award winning cinematographer of Boyhood, Before Sunrise, The Order of Myths, Slackers and the Unforeseen.
