In a fishing village, Quino (Armendáriz) and his wife Juana (Marqués) are in anguish because their little son Coyotito was stung by a scorpion, the local doctor (a foreigner) refuses to treat the child and the boy is taken to a curandera. Later the doctor and his brother (Wagner), a loan shark meet Quino again, after he finds an expensive pearl and decide to steal it from him.
The South Broadway Cultural Center, in cooperation with the Consulate of Mexico, presents five vintage films from Mexico in a series entitled “Cine de la Época de Oro” (Films from the Golden Age of Mexican Cinema) on five consecutive Wednesdays.
The films are in Spanish with English subtitles.
