Description
The WWII Memorial commemorates the sacrifice and celebrates the victory of “the greatest
generation”. The Second World War is the only 20th Century event commemorated in
Washington D.C. on the National Mall’s central axis-but the location was not without
controversy. Join Suzie from Sun Tours who will share a 58-minute video with you on the
creation of the memorial. It is a fascinating story supported by historic footage of the war
including heartfelt accounts by WWII veterans. She will also give a brief overview of the Cherry Blossoms in Washington D.C. tour that visits the memorial.
