Winter Fitness Ski Fitness Cardio Weight Training Class
Want to get more out of your ski season? Get your body in shape
for the slopes by attending our BFit2Ski! This circuit class
concentrates on strengthening the muscles used for skiing,
and increasing strength, balance and stamina.

Special Trips “Winter Sports Bunch”
This Club organizes out-of-town, overnight skiing and snowshoeing
trips for 50+ adults. For more information, please contact

Valles Calderas National Preserve Cross Country and Snowshoe Day Trip
A special one day trip is planned every winter for cross country
skiers and snowshoers to the Valles Calderas National Preserve in
the Jemez Mountains. The beautiful preserve is comprised of almost
89,000 acres including the headwaters of both San Antonio Creek
and the East Fork of the Jemez River.

Cross Country Skiing - Day Trips
Enjoy the splendor of New Mexico’s back country.
Trips are open to intermediate or advanced skiers. Depending
on snow conditions, destinations include the Jemez,
Manzano, and Sandia Mountains. Equipment is not provided.

Snowshoing - Day Trips
Snowshoeing is easy, inexpensive and lots of fun!
Trips will be to the Jemez, Manzano and Sandia Mountains.
Snowshoes can be checked out at no charge at the
Palo Duro 50+ Sports & Fitness Center with a valid driver’s license.
Bring a sack lunch, snacks, water and dress in layers. Snowshoers
can bring ski poles for more stability.

Snowshoe 101 - Day Trips
Snowshoe 101 is for the novice winter outdoor enthusiast.
These trips are designed for those who would like to get
outside for winter play yet need to build respiratory and
muscular endurance. Conditioning exercises and information
on gear and clothing will be offered. Snowshoes may be checked
out at no charge at the Palo Duro 50+ Sports & Fitness Center
with a valid driver’s license. Destination will be the closest snow.
Bring snacks, water and dress in layers.


Downhill Skiing & Snowboarding - Day Trips link to Santa Fe Ski Area
Trips are taken to Sandia Peak and Santa Fe ski areas.
Ride with us and hit the slopes with friends knowing
that someone else will be doing the driving.

Intermediate Cross-Country Ski Review
This one-day refresher course is for those who have
completed beginner cross-country ski lessons or are intermediate
to advanced skiers. Equipment will not be provided.
Bring a sack lunch, snacks, water and dress in layers.

Fantastic Freeze Fest – Winter Competitions in Snowshoeing, Downhill, Cross Country and Ice Hockey! Put in logo here
The downhill skiing & snowboarding competition is held
at the Santa Fe Ski Area. The events include a modified
giant slalom and a Poker Run for entertainment and prizes.
In this fun event each contestant collects 2 poker cards at 5
different specific sites on the ski mountain and then plays poker
for prizes at the end of the day! Skiers may enter one or both events.
The day ends with lunch and an awards presentation at Totemoff’s.
Van transportation to the Santa Fe Ski Area is also available.

The Cross Country competition includes a 1K individual
competition; 3K individual competition and a snowball
throwing competition. The Snowshoeing Competition events
include a 1K & 100 Meter Race. Both the cross country
and the snowshoe competitions end with an awards ceremony.

Ice Hockey Competition
The ice hockey competition is played in accordance with
the rules of the 30-30 Hockey League with no checking
and no slap shot. Officials are provided. Teams will be set
up after entry forms are completed. A minimum of two
teams will make an event. Awards follow the event.
