The City of Albuquerque's La Madrugada Early Head Start will use the funds to provide for a cost-of-living adjustment (COLA) of 1.84% in the amount of $47,673 for Early Head Start personnel. This action also provides quaility improvement funds of $123,215 for Early Head Start. These improvements funds will provide professional development to staff members that will also be extended to our community partners that provide services to our immigrant and homeless families.
The City of Albuquerque is entering the 30th year of a grant from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services for its Early Head Start Program, which provides a range of early childhood education, health and social services to 228 low-income families with children ages 0-3. The Early Head Start Program is operated in collaboration with the City's Child Development Centers and the Department of Family and Community Services.
