Reduce Gang Violence

Project Description:

The Albuquerque Police Department (APD), on behalf of the New Mexico Gang Task Force (NMGTF), has been awarded a grant from the Department of Justice, Office of Justice Programs to implement strategies to reduce the incidence of gang violence. The NMGTF will use the grant funding to hire a full time gang intelligence analyst who will assist the interdiction, investigation and prosecution initiatives of the NMGTF by providing a clearinghouse for the collection of evidence, conducting post-seizure analysis providing operational and investigative de-confliction and analytical case support. NMGTF will utilize funding to hire a part-time data entry assistant that will be responsible for assisting agencies with the entry of gang intelligence cards into GangNet. Funding will be used to purchase GangNet licenses, maintenance fees and supporting hardware.
