LOCAL TREND:
Albuquerque's rate of families with children living in poverty has risen each of the last 3 years. Divorced persons in Albuquerque, those that have not remarried in the last year, has risen over the last 2 years.
NATIONAL/REGIONAL COMPARISON:
Albuquerque percent of divorced persons is 2nd highest among six other peer cities. For families with children living in poverty, Albuquerque ranked 4th of 7 peer cities. In 2011, the rate was 15.4% compared to a national rate of 11.7%.
CITIZEN PERCEPTION:
Albuquerque citizens rated this desired condition as being one of the most important conditions to achieve, while simultaneously being a condition where insufficient progress has been made.
