LOCAL TREND:
Albuquerque's rate of adults with a high school education or higher has increased every year since 2006. Albuquerque has seen a slight drop in circulation over the last two fiscal years.
NATIONAL/REGIONAL COMPARISON:
Compared to peer Southwest cities, Albuquerque has the second highest rate of residents with a high-school education or above. Albuquerque is average among peer communities for population adjusted circulation and population adjusted library visits.
CITIZEN PERCEPTION:
In 2011, a survey was conducted with Albuquerque citizens to determine importance and progress of 57 desired conditions. For this desired condition, residents ranked it 17th in importance and 52nd in progress. Based on this, the IPC concludes that citizens perception of progress does not match results occurring.
