Based on the Following criteria:
Though total Part 1 Uniform Crime Report crimes increased in 2011, overall the four year rate is down 12%. Violent crimes are down 11% and property crimes are down 13% in this time span. Though their was an increase in 2011, besides 2010, the 2011 rate is still the lowest rate in the 10 years we have been collecting data. Emergency medical services calls are up 5% while the average seconds for EMS call to dispatch has decreased 10%.
Violent crime rate is 2nd highest among 7 peer cities. Property crime and total crime is ranked 4th among seven peer communities. EMS call comparisons are not available.
In a 2011 survey, Albuquerque citizens rated this desired condition as being very important but reported that additional progress is required. The relationship between age and perception of importance, and income and the perception of progress were both true to a statistically significant degree.
