Public Comment Sought for 2013 Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant.

The City of Albuquerque and the County of Bernalillo have submitted a joint application requesting grant funds to improve various law enforcement functions within both departments.

Items targeted for funding include equipment and technology for APD’s new Inspection of Public Records (IPRA) Unit, digital storage for evidence, desktop and laptop computer upgrades, emergency management software, and overtime staffing for sex offender verifications, among other items.

The Albuquerque Police Department will act as the grant administrator. As a result, public comment regarding the application is sought from the residents of Albuquerque and Bernalillo County.
