The Great Streets Facility Plan was developed in order to facilitate construction of Great Streets that serve multi-modal opportunities. The Facility Plan establishes standards, guidelines and procedures for constructing Great Street segments that are multi-modal, safe, visually attractive and socially and economically vibrant.
Project Scope Description
The Great Streets Facility Plan primarily focuses on street right-of-way; however, it also addresses those elements of building and site design that directly contribute to the quality of the streetscape and place making.
Project Status as of December 2009
On April 9, 2009 the Environmental Planning Commission unanimously recommended approval of the Great Streets Facility Plan to City Council with certain conditions.
Links to the EPC’s Official Notice of Decision and the April 2009 Facility Plan are provided below. The Plan has been routed to the City Council for their approval and will be scheduled for a public hearing in early 2010.
