The City Council adopted a new Impact Fee Ordinance (F/S O-12-38) and Component Capital Improvements Plan (CCIP) (R-12-98) on November 19, 2012. Subsequently, Mayor Richard J. Berry approved both on November 30, 2012.
Impact Fees are a charge or assessment imposed by the city on new development in order to generate revenue for funding or recouping the costs of capital improvements rationally related to new development in accordance with applicable law. Capital improvements include roads, drainage, fire, police, parks, open space and trails. Impact fees are assessed and collected at time of building permit.
NOTE – IMPACT FEES WILL INCREASE TO 60% OF THE FEE SCHEDULE ON JANUARY 1, 2015.
The Component Capital Improvements Plan (CCIP) is a component of the City’s Capital Implementation Program (CIP) that identifies the capital improvements on which impact fees may be spent. The CCIP will be updated every two years along with the CIP. However, the City Council may amend the CCIP at anytime as deemed necessary.
In addition, Impact Fees Regulations can be found in Chapter 18 of the Development Process Manual (DPM) and are intended to be used in conjunction with the Impact Fee Ordinance in their implementation and administration.
