It was Drug Court Day at the NM State Legislature and Bernalillo County Metropolitan Court, with the biggest Drug Court Program in the state was there, represented by Probation Officer II Rebecca Spooner and DWI/Drug Court Program Manager Terese Hauge.
It costs approximately $12 per day per defendant in Drug Court, as opposed to jail, which can cost about $80 per day per inmate. Metro Court also has excellent success with graduates - who have very low re-arrest rates even after three years.
