“It’s Never Too Early To Think About Growing Something”
Get prepped now for the spring season at Gardeners’ Guild (GG). Help clear the path for 2008 outreach projects by giving a new home to some well-loved products at the supply shop. Find a variety of items, moving out to make room for the coming year’s best. Due to future changes in availability, quality and manufacturing, selected popular and high-quality tools plus decor is now will on sale at half the price. We’re letting them go instead of reordering them in a lesser form. Change can be a good thing — great quality at a 50% savings . All proceeds from this sale will go directly to the development of a publishing studio, new workspace/teaching area and outreach services for our ‘future gardeners’ by focusing on the education of younger children at GG and online.
This Year’s Garden...
If you didn’t grow food in your garden last year, consider doing it in 2008. New Mexico is a great place to grow edibles all year long. Consider adding herbs or your favorite veggie to a garden space. Home-grown food is tastier, cheaper, more nutritious and much more educational. No spot of dirt for an in-ground garden? Many edible varieties do well in containers, offering ways to conserve resources. The edible varieties that grow best will change from season to season and region to region, providing even ‘advanced’ gardeners the opportunity to experiment with something new. Send your questions here.
The ecological ideal of eating only local foods might seem a distant possibility, living in a desert. A few plants in every yard has a significant positive impact and allows anyone to green their scene. Grow what you can, learn new techniques, share with others and contribute to your local food resources. If you do grow things for harvest this year, consider expanding your yield by trading with others. Help to establish the informal food exchange amongst backyard farmers in your neighborhood by visiting this website.

The Bernalillo County Bureau of Elections would like to be part of your neighborhood association meetings. The County Clerk’s Office would like the opportunity to register people to vote and recruit Poll Officials to work future elections. The County Clerk would also be available to attend meetings to answer any questions you may have. This would be a great opportunity to get neighborhoods involved in the election process. You may also visit our website or call us at 505-468-1225 or 505-468-1218 for more information.
