Project Timeline:
The District 8 Coalition of Neighborhood Associations
has formed a Planning Committee to provide direction for post-growth development in their district. The City Planning Department and Professional Planning Service consultants are working with the Coalition to produce a Design Overlay Zone for District 8.
Project Description:
Create a Design Overlay Zone within Council District 8 to provide direction for infill and post-growth development. Provide a priority list of capital implementation projects.
Public Hearings:
No public hearings have been held to date.
Public Meetings:
A Town Hall meeting was held on May 23rd, 2007 to update the community on the latest issues and regulations organized by the District 8 Coalition of Neighborhood Associations Planning Committee.
A second Town Hall meeting was held on October 24th, 2007 to introduce the Draft DOZ to the public.
A third public meeting was held for property owners within the proposed Draft DOZ boundary on Monday January 28, 2008. The meeting included a brief outline of the regulatory changes to the current Zoning Code that is proposed in the Draft DOZ.
Project Status as of January 2009:
The Plan is being revised based on input from the public and area businesses.
