Clayton Heights/Lomas Del Cielo Metropolitan Redevelopment Area

The DRAFT Clayton Heights/Lomas Del Cielo Metropolitan Redevelopment Area Plan was approved by the Albuquerque Development Commission on October 21, 2009.  The plan is now being prepared for review by the Land Use and Planning Commission Subcommittee of Albuquerque City Council.  Once reviewed by the subcommittee, the Clayton Heights/ Lomas Del Cielo MRA Plan will be forwarded this Fall and early Winter to the Albuquerque City Council and the Mayor of Albuquerque for final review and approval.

The Clayton Heights area is rich in Albuquerque amenities including the Isotopes Baseball Stadium, Lobo Football Stadium, The City of Albuquerque BMX /Velodrome and is a major gateway to Albuquerque's lights from the International Sunport Airport. East Gateway MRA
The East Gateway Metropolitan Redevelopment Area's auspicious mountain casings and expansive city views invite travelers to and from the bustling commerce and communities of Albuquerque. Revitalization of the East Gateway Metropolitan Redevelopment Area will create enhancements to the East Central Ave. Commercial Corridor, its businesses and surrounding neighborhoods.

The City of Albuquerque Metropolitan Redevelopment Agency (MRA) invites you to attend the second East Gateway MR Area Community Meeting. The East Gateway MR Area is generally bounded by I-40 North, Tramway Blvd. East, Central Avenue South, Wyoming Boulevard West and runs along the Central Avenue corridor.

Eastern/Alvarado Metropolitan Redevelopment Agency Project

City of Albuquerque Request for Proposal, Solicitation Number RFP #09-01 About PDF Files [pdf, 8.93MB]

The Metropolitan Redevelopment Agency of the City of Albuquerque has issued a Request for Proposals for the development of a City owned property located at the South East corner of Eastern Avenue and Alvarado Street. The Eastern/Alvarado corner property is located within the designated Near Heights MRA Expansion Area and composed of 3.7 acres with proximity to transportation, medical services, Sandia National Laboratories, Kirtland Air Force Base, as well as unique local businesses and restaurants. The property is also located within the newly designated Albuquerque International District.  Documents related to the Eastern Alvarado Request for Proposals include: The Eastern/Alvarado RFP, The Eastern/Alvarado Metropolitan Redevelopment Area Designation Report, The September 2009 DRAFT Near Heights MRA Expansion Plan, the Near Heights MRA Plan, The Phase I, Environmental Assessment Plan for the Eastern/Alvarado corner lot, the 2007 Summery Appraisal document for the Easten/Alvarado property, and finally, the Albuquerque/Bernalillo County Comprehensive Plan. All of these documents are available for pick-up at the Metropolitan Redevelopment Agency Office located at Plaza del Sol, 600 Second Street, Suite 550, Albuquerque, NM 87102. The primary Eastern/Alvarado RFP document is found here. Near Heights MRA Expansion
The Near Heights Metropolitan Redevelopment Area Plan, home of the Talin International Market, Chinese dragon and tiled artwork depicting world cultures received Albuquerque City Council approval in June 2008 to expand the MRA area. The expanded Near Heights MRA zoning and land use area maps and redevelopment designation can be found at the links above.
