ASPCA Community Partnership

Animal Welfare Department and Animal Humane are collaborating to increase adoptions, awareness of spaying and neutering, and the importance of vaccinations in our community through a grant from ASPCA.

Albuquerque has achieved national recognition for the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) for the life-saving work both the City of Albuquerque Animal Welfare Department and Animal Humane New Mexico have been doing in our community. The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals has selected us to be 1 of 6 communities in the country to participate in their Community Partnership program.

Through this partnership, we are working to reduce our city's high shelter intake numbers, increase pet adoptions to ensure more pets find loving homes and improve the lives of pets and their people throughout Albuquerque. During the year we are offering pet health education and resource fairs, aimed at supporting owners in neighborhoods that may experience barriers in providing health services to their pets.
