Animal Welfare Finds New Homes for Plenty of Pets at the Weems International Artfest
The weekend of November 13, 14 and 15 turned out to be a banner one for pets at Albuquerque Animal Welfare. During three days at the Weems International Artfest at Expo New Mexico, 40 pets found loving, permanent homes with new families. This was accomplished despite the presence of many other worthwhile animal adoption groups and pet rescues working out of the same corner of the Manuel Lujan Complex.
The next big adoptathon for Animal Welfare will be the annual Home for the Holidays, in conjunction with several other organizations, including Watermelon Mountain Ranch in Rio Rancho. The adoptathon will be held on Friday, December 18, Saturday, December 19, and Sunday, December 20 in the parking lot at 10200 Coors Bypass NW, next to Cottonwood Mall. Friday’s adoptathon will run from 12 noon to 6 pm. Saturday’s hours are from 10 am to 5 pm. Sunday will run from 10 am to 4 pm.
