Over 500 need loving homes.
The City of Albuquerque Animal Welfare Department is offing the public the opportunity to adopt adult dogs at least 1 year old for only $5. Animal Welfare will launch the event to find loving homes for adult dogs on Friday, April 26, at the Eastside and Westside Animal Shelters. People will be able to meet the dogs and talk with an adoption counselor to get assistance in finding the dog who will fit their family.
During the event, Animal Welfare will reduce the fee that is typically charged for adopting dogs, while keeping all other adoption policies in place, including thorough match-making procedures and background checks.
In the past 12 months, more than 14,000 dogs have arrived at the City of Albuquerque Animal Welfare Department.
