Dog Speed Dating Adoption Event
Animal Welfare is inviting the public to come join the fun and meet our most eligible canine bachelors and bachelorettes. Dog Speed dating is the latest trend in matching families with lovable dogs seeking lifelong commitments. No more personal ads or blind dates, just a casual, fun and judgment-free environment.
The event is organized so that you can chat, ask questions, and check out the chemistry with all our lovable animals in a string of one-on-one interactive sessions lasting five minutes each. At the end of the five minutes, a bell will ring, and you will have a few minutes to fill out your “Score Card” as to whether you would like to see a particular dog again for a final consideration in your decision to adopt. Then you will move to the next station.
There will be door prizes, professional training advice, pet adoption counselors, and adoption fees will be reduced in half that day. Each adoption will include, spaying or neutering, all vaccinations required by law, and a microchip
Attendance is free.
Plan to arrive at least 20 minutes before the official start time to sign-in to receive your name tag and "Score Card," after which you will be assigned a station. We will begin at noon.
At the start of the event, everyone puts on a name tag with only your first name and a number. The event is organized so that you will chat, ask questions, and check out the chemistry with everyone in a string of one-on-one conversations lasting 5 minutes each. At the end of the 5 minutes, a bell will ring, and you will have a 1 minute to fill out your "Score Card" as to whether you would like to see that dog again for a final consideration in your decision to adopt. The prospective owner will then move to the next station.
The process continues until all prospective owners have met all available canine bachelors and bachelorettes. Later you will give your completed "Score Card" to the hostess, if you would like more time with animals of interest. The event itself is scheduled from noon to 4pm.
In the event more than one prospective owner wishes to adopt the same animal, the prospective owner who scored the animal highest will be given first opportunity to adopt. If more than one prospective owner has scored the animal equally, a coin will be flipped by an Animal Welfare employee to eliminate the tied prospective owners. The employee will choose which prospective owner will call the toss.
