Albuquerque – With the kitten season in full bloom the Albuquerque Animal Welfare Department is holding a kittens and cats adoption event at Tingley Beach. Each adoption includes spay or neuter, all vaccinations required by law, and a microchip for better identification, all at a greatly reduced price. Each new adoption will receive a free gift from PetCo.

The Beach Baby Kitten and Cat Adoption Party will have live music performed by Donohoe and Grimes. The event will start at 9:00 a.m. Saturday, July 16, 2011 and will end at 2:00 p.m. The public is invited to bring a kitten or cat they already have to this special event for a Free micro-chip, a $50.00 value.

When a cat comes to our shelters, we are seldom able to reunite the cat with their owner. In the past twelve months, only 3 out of 100 cats were rejoined with their owners. By micro-chipping your cat, you increase the odds that your cat will make it home if it gets lost.

“We hope the public will take this opportunity to come and join us at this very special event and help us find a loving new home for all our kittens and cats,” says Barbara Bruin, Director of the Animal Welfare Department. Animal Welfare is committed to helping raise the awareness and providing the needed education to the public regarding animal welfare issues.
