Whether you are new to AWD and would like to know more about our Foster Program and the care and services we provide for our animals or you are an experienced foster person who would like a refresher or to learn about the critical care needed for our bottle-baby kittens and puppies, we have the classes for you! Tell your friends and bring them, too!

  •  Saturday, August 19, at 10:00 am, we are offering the AWD Foster Program Introduction class at our eastside shelter. We will explain our program and foster needs for young animals, animals with medical conditions, and animals who would like a break from the shelter.
  •  Saturday, August 19, at 11:00 am, we are offering our Care of Bottle-Baby Kittens & Puppies class at our eastside shelter for this very specific foster need. As our foster folks know, the season for bottle-baby kittens and puppies is upon us!  When these tiny motherless babies arrive at the shelter, they need foster care immediately with folks who have the time and ability to care for them because they will not survive overnight in the shelter.  These talented foster folks bottle feed and care for the babies until they are self-sufficient and can eat kibble on their own.

So you are invited to attend one or both classes! If you can attend, please RSVP to Bet, Foster Program Manager, at [email protected] so that we can reserve a spot for you.  Please include FOSTER CLASS in the email title and LET ME KNOW WHICH CLASS (OR BOTH) you plan to attend.  We will meet in the eastside lobby.  I will send another reminder as we draw closer to the 19th.

If you cannot attend the classes on the 19th but want to learn more about our program, do not fear; we offer these classes monthly.

Thank you! And remember ... OUR ANIMALS NEED YOU!!!
