How To Rent A City Pool

To see what is available, complete rental agreements, or pay for your rental, visit play.cabq.gov

You can also call your local pool and ask to speak to the manager. They can tell you what dates are available, make arrangements for accessibility needs, explain the rules and guidelines for renting, and make your reservation.

  • Pool rentals open 45 days prior to the requested date.
  • Rental reservations must be made at least two weeks in advance.
  • Pool rentals are reserved in advance on a first-come-first-serve basis.

Rental Fees

All pools except East San Jose, West Mesa Aquatic Center and Sierra Vista are $75.00/hour with a 2-hour minimum.

Sierra Vista and West Mesa are $125.00/hour with a 2-hour minimum.

East San Jose is $50.00/hour.

The fee includes lifeguards.

West Mesa Aquatic Center

WMAC 2024 Rental Black Out Dates

Reservations for birthday parties and private rentals open 45 days prior to the requested date. For reservations, you can visit play.cabq.gov to see what is available, complete rental agreements, and pay for your rental. A $100.00 deposit is required at checkout. please visit the pool no more than 45 days prior to the reservation date with a deposit of $100.00. This deposit is nonrefundable and is applied to the total cost of the rental period.

  • The fee for West Mesa Pool is $125 per hour, per pool (one indoor and one outdoor pool), with a 2-hour minimum. This fee includes lifeguards.
  • The maximum amount of guests allowed for the indoor slide pool is 85 and the Maximum for the outdoor slide pool (summer only) is 150.
  • The Olympic pool is not available for rentals.

The outdoor pool is only open during summer months. If your guest list is more than 100, you will be required to rent the outdoor pool. If your guest list is over 150, you will be required to rent both pools.

Rental Party Rules

  • Children 8 years and younger or wearing a floatation device must be supervised by an adult in the water within arm's length reach.
  • Children 10 and under must be accompanied by a responsible adult or parent who remains in the facility.
  • Please be aware that your party may be canceled or cut short without warning if the pool closes for weather or health reasons.
  • Both indoor and outdoor pools close for lightning.
  • Health and weather issue closures are out of our control.

Water slide rules

  1. Wait for a lifeguard to signal your departure.
  2. Feet first, face up, no twisting or turning over.
  3. One person at a time- Adults may not ride holding children.
  4. Persons using slide must be able to exit on their own no catching.
  5. Exit catch area promptly.
  6. If you wear eyeglasses they must be securely fastened to your head.
  7. No exposed zippers, buckles, or rivets are allowed on the slide- No jean shorts or cut offs allowed.
  8. Caution: Pregnant women or people with heart or back problems should not ride the slide.

The policy for the slide dispatch states that lifeguards should only allow individuals to use the slide if the rider is at least 42 inches tall and can swim unassisted. If the rider is shorter than the 42 inches, they can ride the slide as long as they can demonstrate that they can swim on their own. Also, if someone is taller than the minimum required height and they appear hesitant, the lifeguard at the top of the slide will signal to the lifeguard at the bottom of the slide that the rider may need assistance. If a rider is unable to exit the slide without assistance, they will not be able to ride the slide again during that pool visit.
