Join the Open Space Division and other local organizations for a variety of conservation projects that nurture and protect the Bosque and river, including trail work, re-vegetation, and trash clean up. There will be activities appropriate for all ages.
The 20th Annual Día del Río: A Celebration of the Rio Grande
Saturday, October 18th from 8:30 AM - 1:00 PM. Please arrive promptly at 8:30am to sign in and enjoy refreshments provided our other generous sponsors.
The location of the event changes each year depending on areas that need restoration work.

Activities During the Dia del Rio event include:
- A variety of conservation activities such as revegetation, trail work, and trash pickup.
- There will be activities appropriate for all ages, from trail work to trash pickup.
At the end of the event, make sure to stick around for a fabulous prize drawing!
Gloves, sun protection, plenty of water. Free snacks will be provided during morning sign in.
Registration starts mid-September. Please logon to www.rei.com/albuquerque or call 247-1191 to register. The first 80 people to pre-register will receive a free t-shirt the day of the event, courtesy of REI!

Organize your own bosque cleanup:
Do you live near the bosque? Or do you have a favorite area near the river? Organize your own clean up the day of the event. Open Space will provide trash bags and haul off the collected trash. Call 452-5216 or email [email protected] to sign up your group for your own cleanup.
