An Altar Dedicated to Local, National and International Heroes of the Environmental Movement
The Open Space Visitor Center Presents
the 5th Annual Day of the Day Ofrenda (Altar)
WHAT: The Open Space Visitor Center is hosting a Day of the Dead altar devoted to local, national, and international “Heroes of the Environment" that have passed away.
WHEN: The ofrenda is on display through November 18th, 2012.
Each year the altar is designed and built by Open Space volunteers.
El Día de Los Muertos is a Mexican tradition that has captured the imagination of people all over the world. In Mexico, Día de Los Muertos celebrations vary from somber visits to graveyards to pay respects to the deceased, to art exhibits, to the making of private and public “ofrendas” or altars which venerate the departed.
WHERE: The Open Space Visitor Center is located at 6500 Coors Blvd. NW between Paseo del Norte and Montaño Rd. NW at the end of Bosque Meadows Rd. Please see www.cabq.gov/openspace for more information about this and other events taking place at the Open Space Visitor Center.
