Starting in 2012 through 2013, Bernalillo County will be rehabilitating approximately five miles of the Paseo del Bosque Trail from Bridge Boulevard south to the South Diversion Channel.
Schedule: Construction plans were finalized this summer and the project was advertised for bidding. The county opened the project bids on October 22, 2012.
Construction is expected to begin on December 3, 2012 with Sparling Construction Co., Inc. as the main contractor.
For the first two weeks of December, 2012, the trail will be closed off between Tingley Drive at the north end of the project and Bridge Boulevard. Use a combination of Tingley Drive, 8th Street, and south sidewalk on Bridge Blvd. to get from north end of project to Bridge Boulevard.
Note: Bernalillo County is encouraging trail users to respect the closures as these sections of trail have limited workspace/access and users will not be able to pass the construction areas. Our goal is to get the word out to as many users as possible, so please share this information with any other groups or users that will be impacted by the closures.
UPDATE: The county has completed the new trail pavement for Phases I through IV, from Bridge Boulevard to Rio Bravo Boulevard. This section of trail is now open to users though minor work still continues in some areas.
