Our friends and family are perfect mirrors reflecting for us the things we most need to learn. In this class we will work with our chosen partner, spouse, child, or friend, to create monotypes which is a popular contemporary printmaking process. With this process prints are made by drawing or painting on a lexann plate (a stronger version of plexi-glass) and then transferred onto a sheet of paper by pressing the two together. As with all printmaking processes, the paper will then reveal a reflection of the image created on the plate.
The workshop will take place Saturday, November 8, 2014 at the Open Space Visitor Center, 9:00 AM – 11:30 AM. There is a $15.00 materials per couple payable the day of the workshop. Cash or check only. Registration is required as space is limited. Call (505) 897-8831 to register.
This workshop is offered by Alice Webb and Ruth Cohen, artists featured in the Luna Project’s REFLECT exhibition at the Open Space Visitor Center Gallery showing November 1 – December 28.
Luna Project is an ever-changing, evolving group of women artists who came together in 2003. The participants work in various media and vary in number from twelve to eighteen artists from year to year. The group meets frequently to nourish each individual’s creative efforts through the sharing of ideas, critique and encouragement.
