Farm Volunteer Day and Orientation

Please join us Saturday August 22nd for the Rio Grande Community Farm Volunteer Orientation and Community Garden Work Blitz!
First, a big "Thank You!" to the volunteers that made it out for our June Volunteer Day! We established an effective berm for the hedgerow on the west border of the Community Garden and mulched the garden walkways - helping to make the garden a more inviting habitable place for wildlife and visitors!
If you are interested in learning more about our ongoing volunteer opportunities on the farm, please join us for August's Volunteer Orientation and garden work blitz! Details below:
When? Saturday August 22nd from 8AM - 11AM
What? Volunteer Orientation for those interested in volunteering (and continuing to volunteer) with RGCF to learn about the farm and projects we will be working on over the next several months. Afterwards we will give some love to the community garden area revitalizing spaces to grow more food and wildlife habitat!
Where? We will meet at the main parking lot for Los Poblanos Open Space Fields. 1260 Solar Rd NW Los Ranchos de Albuquerque, NM 87107 From the intersection of 4th and Solar (or Sadie’s Restaurant), head west on Solar for one mile. Immediately after you pass Alvarado Elementary turn south onto the drainage ditch and park along the fence. Walk across the bridge and you will be at the Community Garden.
Please bring water, sunscreen, boots & weather appropriate clothes. *Cooling refreshments will be provided!*
