It is difficult to argue with the state’s motto “Land of Enchantment” when traveling New Mexico: Alpine ridges diving down to deep gorges, cool cottonwood forests dissolving into hot plateaus and mesas where the stories of New Mexico can be read in its many geologic layers. New Mexico’s landscape is dramatic and its beauty can’t be denied. Fortunately, millions of acres of these soaring landscapes are within the public domain and accessible for our enjoyment.
In celebration of New Mexico’s unique landscapes and in recognition of National Public Lands Day, taking place September 27th, and the 50th anniversary of the Wilderness Act, Plein Air Painters of New Mexico (PAPNM) is curating a special plein-air exhibit featuring New Mexico public lands.
Join us for the opening reception on September 6, 2014, 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM. The show runs through October 26th. The Open Space Visitor Center Gallery is open Tuesday through Sunday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM. Entry is free.
