Pinch Pot Workshop with Michael Kanteena

The art of pinch pots is deeply rooted in the Southwest. Michael Kanteena will teach you how to make these ancient vessels and then fire them for you.
Michael Kanteena is an award-winning potter from Laguna Pueblo. He is a self-taught potter best known for recreating Chaco, Mesa Verde and other ancestral pueblo pottery. Kanteena also makes pottery inspired by historic kachina dolls and kachina masks. His work has been displayed in the Maxwell Museum, the Wheelwright Museum, and at many commercial galleries. Kanteena also shows his work at the annual Santa Fe Indian Market.
This is a 2-day workshop. Students will build the pots on Saturday and paint them on Sunday. All workshop materials will be provided. Please dress to get messy. Space is limited to 15 people, 7 years old and up. $30.00 adults; $15 children accompanied by a paid adult
