Alameda: a brief history with Enrique Lamadrid

Saturday, September 5th, 11:00 am - 12:30 pm

UNM Professor Enrique Lamadrid, folklorist and environmental educator, speaks about riparian landscapes in urban areas and how they have been manipulated. His presentation will offer examples of beloved "alamedas" or cottonwood forests in Latin America and Spain, leading up to their adoption into New Mexican vistas and cultures. We will examine our own bosque's past and present, and speculate some about its future.
